Carey Stops Foreclosure without Bankruptcy

My friend Carey, a Stafford homeowner, was able to stop the foreclosure of her house without filing for bankruptcy.

She has a zombie second mortgage that was threatening to foreclose. And we were ready to file Chapter 13, to give her five years to catch up. But we didn't need to.

The Virginia Mortgage Relief program came through with a HAF grant. Sadly, that program is out of money and not taking any more applications.
